Interesting fact: It is illegal to take any photos in all NYC subway stations. This is a legacy of the ’80s when graffiti were a major problem. I did not know this when this photo was taken, only be told when I showed it to the camera club.

How amusing. I didn’t know the illegality of it. Last time I was in NYC, I took video on the subway. Now I feel bad. I’ve always thought of myself as a law-abiding citizen, and here I turn out to be a rebel.

Actually, I’m pretty sure the law pre-dates the 80s… maybe even as far back as WWII, but I couldn’t find it on the web.

This link is from a slashdot article I read – supposedly the ban on photography in the subway was lifted some 10 years ago and may be put back in place.
