Just a few days after we received our Employment Authorization Card from INS, the Advance Parole Notices also arrived on our door step! Woo hoo! So now we have the same rights as Green Card holders, just waiting for the final approval from INS.
Leah has applied for her SSN today and hopefully (fingers crossed) she will be looking for jobs as well.

There you go Alex! The process is exactly like that, you receive the EAD and just a few days later you receive the Advance Parole (sounds like we are convicted criminals or something…) I hope you guys get your GC approval soon. No mean to discourage, but I have a number of friends who have been waiting much longer for their approvals after that tragic day we all witnessed in NYC…I guess I was lucky in that sense.
