5 Years

Five years ago today I left London and landed at JFK in the freezing winter of New York City with one huge suit case and my laptop as my sole possessions in America. That was the start of my career in America as a software consultant, riding the tail end of the dot com boom. How time has flied in the intervening years. The dot com boom had burst, WTC had collapsed, and George W. Bush got elected the second time. And now I am married, have permanent residency, working as a permanent employee in New York City, and one huge suit case cannot hold even a small portion of our belongings.
