For the first time in my life, I dressed up for Halloween yesterday for a costume contest at work. A bunch of us geek developers decided on Tuesday that it would be cool if all of us dressed up in Star Trek uniform. So we ordered the Deep Space Nine uniforms (the original DS9 uniform, not the new ones introduced in First Contact unfortunately) online with express shipping and they arrived on Thursday. We didn’t win the contest, the prize went to a IT crew member who dressed up as a big baby! Anyway, here is our group photo.
SpaceShipOne Desktops

Flooded
So this is what greeted me this morning when I stepped outside of my apartment building, trying to get to work. I might as well took my clothes off and swam across the intersection! Here are the blurry pictures from my camera phone. You can just about able to make out the huge splashes made by the slow travelling Jeep.
After watching many people bravely walked across the ‘pond’, Leah decided to test the water and walked around the corner. There she found that the land was pretty much dry and called me on the cell phone to let me know! The irony was that Leah didn’t even need to be out this morning! She was just craving for her daily dose of Starbuck coffee!
Women who were dressed in skirts and sandals were very fortunate. All they needed to do were pulled up their skirts and walked on. Me, I had to put on my trainers (tennis sneakers for the American readers), rolled up my trousers, and took a pair of dry socks and my work shoes with me. Of course, with the water up to knees deep in places I ended up with completely soaked shoes and socks by the time I got to the office.

Old film photos
Leah and I were browsing our photo collection in search of suitable ones for this year Christmas card and I found these two long forgotten scanned photos. They are taken in the summer of 2003 in the west village of New York and Grand Central Station when I was still using slide films. Enjoy.

More photos
I’ve uploaded more photos I took during my company’s softball games. I haven’t been taking photos for the last two games because I was in the team playing! I actually caught two runners out as a first baseman in the last game. Not bad for a novice!
