Tomorrow is the 60th Anniversary of D-Day. BBC News is running a In Depth page about the event as well as the historical background. For those who want to see a glimpse of what the veterans endured for us 60 years ago, may I suggest watching the HBO series Band of Brothers? It is currently being shown at The History Channel, and you can get the DVD boxset at Amazon.
One movie too many for science?
The new movie, The Day After Tomorrow, sounds interesting but this New Scientist news piece puts things in perspective:
Weaver notes that the movie’s budget “would fund my entire research group for my entire life, 10 times over”. That might even allow him to discover which scenarios are most plausible.
May be more science and one less summer blockbuster movie?

Bumped straight into Andre Drazen of "24"
After a hard day at work, I was walking down E 24th towards Boardway when I ran into a film crew. Among them was the actor who played Andre Drazen in 24, Zeljko Ivanek. My first celebrity sighting in NYC!

What was that ending?
This week’s great episode of Navy: NCIS end with much confusion. This is as far as I can work out from replaying on TiVo 🙂
1. The Israeli commando was wearing a bulletproof vest.
2. He also has a accomplice who is in HRT uniform.
3. When Gibbs shot the commando , the accomplice went out to the ambulance bay and shot two HRT agents before DiNozzo shot him in turns. (May be help the terrorist escape?)
4. Somehow, the commando escaped in the general confusion. Method unknown.
5. Escape method relies on Gibbs shooting him in the chest because Gibb is trained to shot at body mass.
So if anyone know what exactly goes on, pray tell!
