Not sure how long this will last but while I was out playing tennis earlier tonight, my third blog post for Download Squad has just made it onto Digg's front page!

This definitely makes me forget about losing my tennis game tonight! 😀

Scientific literacy in America

"A slightly higher proportion of American adults qualify as
scientifically literate than European or Japanese adults, but the truth
is that no major industrial nation in the world today has a sufficient
number of scientifically literate adults," he said. "We should take no
pride in a finding that 70 percent of Americans cannot read and
understand the science section of the New York Times."

Sleepless in NYC

I've been trying to finish this book for about 4 months now. I even packed it in my bags when I flew back to the U.K. last Christmas, hoping I could get some traction on it as I travelled. Alas, life has been very busy what with being paid to blog, tennis, ecto, moving apartment in March, weekly magazines (New Scientist and Autosport) to read, podcasts to listen to, et al.

More hours of the day, or decrease the number of hours of sleep I need will be very welcomed.
