Street Fair Photos

BBQ!

I went uptown to a street fair on the 6th Avenue, between 14th and 23rd Street this afternoon, hoping to get some interesting photos. But since I didn’t have breakfast and was hungry already, I think my photos are biased by my hunger for food! Food photos were all I took.

And while I was exporting the photos from iPhoto 5 to the desktop before uploading to TypePad, I remembered that there was a iPhoto Plug-in that does this directly from within iPhoto. A bit Googling led me to the very cool and free PhotoToTypePad plug-in. Works perfectly and save me a few minutes from the exporting, zipping up, upload and check process. Now it is just one export step and the photos are up at TypePad photo album. I love it when computer makes my life easier!

Sailing

I’ve always wanted to learn to sail and so with the Manhattan Sailing Club, literally just down the road from my apartment perhaps I will join them.

It's Friday afternoon, do you know where your employees are?

Very nice and sunny day here in Manhattan today. With Leah visiting the U.K. for the next 7 days for her uncle’s wedding, I also took time off work to relax. Originally I was going to stay in the apartment today and work on ecto but the nice weather tempted me outdoor. So I took my camera with me and took some interesting shots, starting with this one:

Battery Park City

I have always wondered where all these people come from. It is Friday afternoon, after lunch time, so people that are working should be back at their desk already. I guess these people can be tourists but only a few of them behaves like tourists, so what are the rest? They can’t all be unemployed or on vacation time like myself, surely?

When is Wednesday not Wednesday?

Or when is 21st Century not 21st Century? They are not what they are when information have to be dumbed down to the lowest denominator!

Apparently the Star Wars Episode III preview tickets that we have for May 18th, Wednesday 12:01 a.m. is not for tonight. It is for tomorrow night, i.e. Thursday 12:01 a.m. Why? Apparently it is because it is Wednesday evening so it is Wednesday 12:01 a.m. I would have given them the benefit of my doubt if they had used 12:00 a.m. but 12:01 a.m.?

Look at Fandango or MovieTickets.com and see for yourself.

Oh and the millennium thing? The year 2000 is still in the 20th Century. January 1st, 2001 is the first day of the 21st Century. Just like if you are born on January 1st, 0000, you are not one year old until January 1st, 0001. Or two thousands years old until January 1st, 20001. Stupid!

I am sorry? Did I lose you on my logical explanation of the concerpt of the forth dimension?

So, no Star Wars tonight due to the population inability to discern date time. I hate stupid people and the dumbing down to accommodate them. How about this for an idea? Let’s educate people so they understand simple concept as date and time?
